Sermon Starters - Information/Disclaimer

 For a number of years, Cecil Culbreth met with pastors Joe Lyons, Gary Wheat and Michael Abel.  (Pastor Steve Morris joined the group later).  They studied passages of scriptures together to discover the main theme of the passage and ways the passage could be developed into a sermon and how the truths apply to lives today.

 Each of these pastors used these sermon starters and developed the sermon for their specific church and their specific personality under the direction of the Holy Spirit. The “title” of the sermon was not necessarily the title each pastor used when preaching the message. For most of these sermons, the material under the introduction was to either provide background or stimulate thinking as the pastor developed his own introduction.

 While I (Cecil) led the group, I learned as much from our group study as they did and was blessed by the insights into scripture that each of them brought to the table.
